Former Twitter founder Jack Dorsey has disclosed that Twitter wouldn’t have survived if not for Elon Musk. He stated that Elon Musk was the alternative that stopped Twitter’s fall.
He stated this in response to a question from Insider’s Thomas Maxwell, he said” The company would have never survived as a public company. Would you rather have had it owned by hedge funds and Wall Street activists?”
Maxwell also questioned Dorsey about what he did to try to turn around Twitter’s fortunes.
“We did everything to avert. he said. Ultimately the failure was not having dual class shares. That’s not something that can be fixed. Can you explain in detail another solution? We grew the company again after it nearly died. All launches you see today were things team built ready to go. Please enlighten us.”
Dorsey has previously shown his admiration for Musk. Musk’s Twitter account was one of the 46-year-old’s favourites in 2016. “He’s very open and using it to correct press and if people aren’t focused on the right things. I think he’s a really good model of how to use it well,” Dorsey remarked at a trade show at the time.
Dorsey previously stated that he was “really happy” about Musk joining Twitter’s board after the SpaceX co-founder purchased a share in the firm. In a tweet, Musk also stated that he “deeply cares” about the world and the role Twitter plays in it.
