Former Twitter Owner, Jack Dorsey has revealed why he gave up on his plan for the changes he wanted at Twitter.

It would be recalled that the platform was recently acquired by Tesla CEO, Elon Musk.

Dorsey in a blog post on Tuesday stated that he gave up on the platform after activist firm Elliott Management got involved with the company over two years ago.

“The Twitter when I led it and the Twitter of today do not meet any of these principles.

“This is my fault alone,” Dorsey wrote.” He wrote.

“I completely gave up pushing for them when an activist entered our stock in 2020.” He added.

According to Dorsey, social messaging platforms shouldn’t generally remove content or suspend users because doing so “makes it more difficult to understand important context and to identify and prosecute illegal activity.”

He advocated that the only way to uphold his stated principles is through the creation of a “free and open protocol for social media” that is not controlled by any one person or organization.
