WhatsApp is introducing a picture-in-picture capability for its iOS client.
This feature allows users to use WhatsApp or other apps without muting the call’s video feed.
With the release of its iOS app version 23.3.77, the company launched this capability. While on a WhatsApp video call in the past, the other party would lose sight of your video feed if you opened another app on your iPhone.
With the new capability, you can answer a message or search up information on your phone without hanging up.
When WhatsApp first introduced this function in December last year, it stated that it was testing picture-in-picture for iOS during video conversations with a restricted group of users.
In addition to this function, WhatsApp is also making it possible to include a caption when transmitting documents on both iOS and Android.
Moreover, the business is testing a function that lets iOS users submit 100 images or documents at once. With the most recent version, Android users can access this capability.
WhatsApp unveiled a number of status-related features earlier this month, including voice updates, emoji reactions to status updates, rich link previews in status updates, restricting who can view an update, and showing rings around the profile picture if they have uploaded a new status. These features are the app’s own take on the Stories format.
