According to The Nation, this was disclosed by its Executive Vice Chairman, Prof Umar Danbatta made this known in Lagos on Saturday.

“The commission has introduced MVNOs licences that will generate employment and also bridge the gap between the unserved and the underserved in society. It will also further engender competition and provide choices for telecommunications consumers,” he said.

Danbatta, who was represented by NCC Director of Licensing and Authorisation, Alhaji Muhammed Babajika, noted that the MVNO license is a Five-Tier classification that has distinctive services to be offered by the players in different tiers.

He noted that each of the license categories has a validity period of ten years before it must be renewed.

Also, he stated that the Commission is currently restructuring all of its licenses due to global technological advancement. This includes the license terms, scope, conditions, limitations, benchmark, and pricing policies, some of which are already out of date.
