GitHub launches internship in Nigeria, nine other countries

GitHub, Inc. an Internet hosting service for software development has launched an internship program called ‘GitHubOcternships’.

The GitHub Octernship is a completely remote program that equips students with the necessary skills and experiences.

The program also gives the student the chance to work on different projects which helps them to learn a wide range of software development skills, which includes open source projects, documentation, design, and testing.

It also gives you the opportunity to get meaningful mentorship from leaders in the tech industry, as well as the chance to work with other developers, and connect with potential employers on Github’s list of partners.

Successful applicants will also get a competitive student stipend for each Octernships project they participate in.

The internship is starting for students in 10 countries, including India, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Mexico, Nigeria, and Colombia, and will expand to more regions over time.

To apply, you have to be verified on Global Campus, as well as be an active contributor on GitHub, and then keep an eye out for new projects that Octernships will be releasing all year round.
