ChatGPT, the raving artificial intelligence chatbot from OpenAI, is projected to have 100 million monthly active users in January.
This is barely two months after the chatbot became a global hit. This feat would make ChatGPT the fastest-growing consumer application in history, according to a UBS study released on Wednesday.
The report, cited data from Similarweb, an analytics firm said an average of about 13 million unique visitors visit ChatGPT per day in January. This is a double of what the site got in December.
“In 20 years following the internet space, we cannot recall a faster ramp in a consumer internet app,” UBS analysts wrote in the study.
ChatGPT became a global rave after it proved almost perfectly that it has answers to every question, performing better than Google.
The rise of the chatbot has been astronomical.
It took TikTok about nine months to 100 million users and it took Instagram two and half years according to data from Sensor Tower.
ChatGPT can do a range of functions which includes: articles, essays, jokes, poetry in response to prompts, coding and even debugging.
OpenAI, the company that owns ChatGPT is a private company backed by Microsoft made the product available to the public for free in late November.
