Streaming giant, Netflix has introduced two new features for Premium subscribers: spatial audio and more download devices.

Netflix’s premium subscribers and those looking to upgrade are granted access to the features at no additional cost.

“Today, we’re excited to announce new features at no additional cost for members who are already on the Premium plan, choose to upgrade, or are signing up for the first time.” Rishu Arora, Netflix’s Director of Product Management, made the announcement via a company blog post. She also explained that the viewing experience of premium users has been optimized for 4k HDR resolution.

Spatial sound is a unique cinematic sound experience that can be enjoyed on any device, with no additional equipment required. Thanks to this new feature, users may now enjoy the highest-quality sound when watching a movie or series on their phone, tablet, computer, or TV.

The new feature is now accessible on over 700 of Netflix’s most popular titles, including Stranger Things, The Witcher, Wednesday, and Knives Out: Glass Onion. It will also be included for new yet popular titles, such as Tour de France, You, Your Place or Mine, and so on, as they are launched.

Premium users can get the feature by looking for the new spatial audio badge on shows and movies or searching for spatial audio to get a full list of all the movie/show titles with the feature, while more download devices allow users of the streaming platform to connect to a premium account and download Netflix series and films whenever they want.

Previously, premium customers could share their accounts across numerous devices, but only four members can download anything from the site. However, with these additional features, the number of download devices for premium users has doubled to six.

Another feature is Dolby Atmos, which provides customers with engaging sounds that enhance their viewing experience on the streaming platform.

Also available on Sony’s BRAVIA MASTER Series A9F OLED and Z9F LED TVs is the Netflix Calibrated Mode, a new feature created by Sony picture quality and device experts in partnership with Netflix color scientists.

This is coming after the streaming service announced new anti-password sharing safeguards. The platform outlined how it intends to keep password sharing within a family while restricting outside access.
