American tech giant, Microsoft will be releasing a new edition of Microsoft Teams with improved performance by March 2023.
Microsoft Teams has been completely redesigned in order to greatly increase how little system resources it uses on desktop computers and laptops.
Microsoft recently began testing this new Teams client widely within Microsoft, according to sources familiar with the company’s intentions, and it intends to release a preview to Microsoft Teams customers in March.
Microsoft has been working on this new Teams client for years; internally, it is known as Microsoft Teams 2.0 or 2.1.
The program should reduce memory usage by 50%, CPU load by 5%, and battery life on laptops by 10%.
Businesses utilizing Teams have been using the older Teams client due to the amount of effort required for Microsoft to rebuild the client, even though some of this early work was deployed in the built-in Teams experience for consumers in Windows 11.
With this new application, Teams switches from Electron to Microsoft’s Edge Webview 2 platform.
Also, Microsoft has switched to React, a Javascript library that will provide future UI enhancements for Teams.

Teams should now open much more quickly and feel more responsive while you’re delivering a presentation in a meeting or replying to messages as a result of the improvements. Many of the problems and criticisms regarding Teams’ performance, especially on older laptops, should be addressed by the new Teams app.
Microsoft will provide Teams users with a preview of its new app in late March, along with an option that will allow them to return to the old app if necessary.
