Amazon, Alexa back online after outage

Amazon has announced that its cloud computing subsidiary, Amazon Web Services, and its voice assistant service, Alexa, have been restored following a brief outage on Sunday.

According to Downdetector, Alexa was unavailable for thousands of users in the United States, while hundreds of users reported difficulties accessing AWS. Users also experienced difficulties using Amazon’s mobile app.

At the height of the outage, Downdetector, which analyses outages by compiling status updates from various sources, including user-submitted mistakes, displayed more than 16,000 reports regarding Alexa.

According to AWS’s website, services have recovered from a problem in which AWS users were unable to finish the account signup procedure and were receiving error messages about their billing interface.

According to its website, AWS’s billing console assists in the management of ongoing payments and payment methods associated with AWS accounts.
